The Hail Shop, located in McKinney, TX, specializes in Paintless Dent Repair. We repair your damaged vehicle without ruining your paint. Paintless Dent Removal is a great option for minor dent and ding damage caused by shopping carts, damaging hail storms or unexpected mishaps.
When is McKinney Paintless Dent Repair NOT an option?
This is a question we get almost daily at our McKinney location.
Vehicle Paint Damage
A good rule of thumb is if the paint has been damaged in any way, PDR is not the best option. For example, if the paint is scratched, chipped or peeling, PDR will not repair the damage 100%. We can remove the dent damage but the surface paint will still be damaged.
Too Much Dent Damage
The McKinney Hail Shop has seen the aftermath of multiple hail storms. McKinney, TX and it’s surrounding cities are known for getting hit hard, often and severely. We have seen auto hail damage as a result of baseball to softball sized hail storms. These are the vehicles that have shattered windshields, so many dents that you can’t even see where one starts and the other stops, deformed bumpers, and devastated owners. Unfortunately, we cannot repair these vehicles. In most cases, your insurance company will declare the vehicle “totaled.”
When it comes to collision dent damage, there are many levels of severity. If the collision caused the panel to simply bend inward and the paint wasn’t damaged, paintless dent repair is a good solution for removing the dent. Sometimes we will see a vehicle that has been hit so hard that the impact caused the metal to push inward and somehow twist or fold the panel. This kind of damage we can NOT repair in our McKinney shop. We can refer you to a conventional auto body shop that can.
If you have any questions about the severity of your damage and if it can be repaired with paintless dent repair, call us or schedule a free damage inspection.
McKinney, TX Paintless Dent Repair VS Conventional Auto Body Shop Dent Repair
If the paint is damaged or the number of dents is too much, or if the metal has been stressed or stretched, then a McKinney conventional auto body shop repair process is recommended. The convention dent repair method is completely different than the paintless dent repair method. Conventional repairs usually involve sanding down and straightening the damaged panel or replacing body panels. Once repairs are complete, the repaired panels of the car will be repainted.
Paintless Dent Repair takes anywhere from a couple of hours to 48 hours. Conventional auto body repair can take between a week and a month.
