We aren’t a law firm. Our knowledge comes from real world, hands-on experience with hail damaged cars. As one of the leaders in the auto hail repair industry, we know HOW the insurance industry works from the inside out.
You don’t have to settle.
When your car is totaled, insurance companies often push for a quick, lowball agreement. You have every right to take a breath, ask questions, and refuse an offer that doesn’t genuinely cover the cost of replacing your vehicle.
Know your rights.
Insurance policies are filled with complex terms, but the rules are designed to ensure you are made whole after a loss. Understanding what your vehicle is truly worth—and what local regulations require insurers to cover—empowers you to stand firm with gentle confidence.
Let us do the work for you.

Real Life Total Loss FAQ
Browse our total loss FAQs from actual customers below to learn more about what is really happening in the real world after the insurance company totals out your vehicle.
Insurance is declaring a total loss, why?
If the damage + salvage value exceeds the vehicle’s ACV (actual cash value), insurance will deem the vehicle a total loss.
When should I accept a total loss from insurance?
Before accepting the insurance offer letter for a totaled vehicle, verify that the assessed damages and the offered Actual Cash Value (ACV) are accurate. Third party appraisal services and body shops can assist with this matter.
Insurance claims my car is a total loss – how should I proceed?
Step 1. Obtain the offer letter from your insurance company. Step 2. Consult with a total-loss consultant, third-party appraisal service, or body shop for assistance.
My car was deemed a total loss and I still owe money, what do I do?
If you have an outstanding loan on your totalled vehicle, your lender will either a) apply the settlement towards the loan, or b) allow the settlement to be applied to the repairs if sufficient repairs are completed.
Has anyone ever successfully disputed a Total Loss Value?
Yes, thousands of policyholders successfully dispute total loss valuations every year, often securing payouts that are 10% to 30% higher than the insurance company’s initial offer.
What’s the process for keeping a vehicle after it’s declared a total loss?
This is called an ‘owner retained’ vehicle. When you receive the settlement letter from your insurance company, you will be given two options. The first option is for a total ACV payout and you surrender the vehicle to your insurance company. The second option is for owner retention, in which you will receive the ACV of the vehicle, minus the salvage value.
